2024 Pantone Colour of the Year

Writer's picture: Nails by Laura D LeeNails by Laura D Lee

The 2024 Pantone Colour of the Year has been named as 13-1023 - otherwise known as ‘Peach Fuzz’. This pretty, velvety peach is a delicate hue, ‘nestled softly between pink and orange’ and if you’d like this gorgeous shade on your nails then the Essie polish ‘A Crewed Interest’ is pretty bang on for a colour match (pictured above).

This year is the 25th Pantone Colour of the Year & Pantone have said that the goal of their Colour of the Year program is to help people “better understand the power color can have.”

As a nail artist, this is something I see every day, when I watch you carefully consider the shade(s) you’d like me to paint with. I think the power comes from the way in which colours evoke such strong emotions in people - for me, a bright sunshine yellow brings out an instant smile, whereas I struggle to find the joy in darker colours.

I personally love this year’s chosen colour ‘Peach Fuzz’, but if it’s not your cup of tea then don’t worry because at last count I had 111 different CND Shellac shades to choose from!

Pantone have described nail designs incorporating Peach Fuzz 13-1023 as ‘romantic, innocent, and sweet.’ Why not choose the subtle shimmer of Lecenté’s Peach Powder or the gorgeous glimmer of Magpie’s Coronation Glitter to elevate the soft beauty of Peach Fuzz? Alternatively, add a dash of metallic foil for a contemporary finish.

I think it would make a lovely base colour for some Valentine’s designs, and its placement between pink and orange mean it would also look lush when paired with a bright version of either (or both) of these colours.

So what do you think - will you be wearing Peach Fuzz this year? 🍑 #nailsbylauradlee
